Pilgrim Monument at the Holidays

Wall of Heroes

When: Through the month of November, 2024; dedication ceremony on November 3, 2024 from noon to 2 p.m.

Where: Mashpee Commons, Mashpee MA

Admission: Free

Through November and continuing into the Holidays, Mashpee Commons, in partnership with Heroes in Transition, will honor our country's veterans with a “Wall of Heroes."

Visitors to the Commons are invited to pay tribute to members of the military – those who have served and those currently serving – by writing a message of appreciation on a “Wall of Heroes” which will move to various locations throughout Mashpee Commons. 

The November 3rd dedication ceremony will take place on the plaza in front of Lululemon and Regal Cinemas, with entertainment provided by DJ “Matty B,” of local radio station PIXY 103. 

Messages written in gratitude and appreciation of service members past or present, including their families, will raise awareness for Mashpee-based Heroes in Transition. Donations to Heroes in Transition will be graciously accepted.

"Fellswater" Celtic Ensemble Concert

When: November 2, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main Street, South Yarmouth MA

Exhilarating, passionate, and artfully arranged, Fellswater performs traditional and contemporary music from Scotland, Ireland, Galicia, and across all Celtic cultures.

This multi-talented Boston-based group is one of New England’s most exciting Celtic ensembles. Their diverse repertoire traverses the centuries with fiery instrumentals and songs that bring the rich heritage of Celtic people to new audiences.

Fellswater features the talents of Dave Cabral, Cello, Viola, Celtic harp; Kyle Forsthoff, Percussion; Elizabeth Ketudat, Fiddle, Nyckelharpa; Sarah MacConduibh, Irish flute, whistle, fife, piano accordion; Andrew McIntosh, Scottish smallpipes, border pipes; Chris Myers, vocals, guitar, octave mandolin, banjo; and Diane Myers, vocals. 

Revolutionary War Experience

When: November 3, 2024, from noon to 4 p.m.

Where: Brewster Windmill Village, 51 Drummer Boy Road, Brewster MA

Come watch Brewster Colonial Artillery Company's members - all in period dress - as they drill with “Alice,” the Unit’s muzzle-loading cannon, and demonstrate manual arms and firing the muzzle-loading musket known as “Brown Bess.”

There'll also be lessons in writing with a quill pen, playing trap ball (a sort of colonial baseball with a twist!), and opportunities to speak with militia members about colonial life, the Cape’s role in the Revolution, and the resulting Republic’s evolution as a Nation State.

Weather permitting, there will be tents, a bell of arms set up, and the possibility of cooking demonstrations, too.

Provincetown Food & Wine Festival

When: November 7 - 10, 2024

No doubt this year's Provincetown Food & Wine Festival will once again delight all foodies and wine lovers!

Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary Holly Berry Bazaar

When: November 9, 2024, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary's Christmas Bazaar is back this year.

This popular biennial Holiday event features handcrafted items, baked goods, attic treasures - and of course, Santa!  Something for everyone!

All proceeds go towards CCHA's pledge for Cancer Services.

Northside UMC Holly Fair

Outermost Contra Dance

When: November 15, 2024; doors open at 6:15 p.m., dance begins at 7 p.m.

Put on your dancin' shoes for this fun event at Preservation Hall!

Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork is needed – if you can walk, you can contra dance!

All the dances are taught and called. If you're new to contra dance, join the free "Contra Basics Workshop" at 6:30 p.m. to learn the basic moves. (No need to bring a partner; there are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community.)

Come to dance or come just to listen. All are welcome!

Glassblowers' Christmas

When: Opening day is November 15, 2024

Where: Sandwich Glass Museum, 129 Main Street, Sandwich Village

Admission: This is an indoor show/sale that is free to view. Touring the Glass Museum is a separate admission.

Eight very talented, local Cape Cod potters present their work for the Annual Holiday Pottery Show & Sale.

Polar Express Christmas Train

The delightful children's story, The Polar Express, comes alive as you board Cape Cod Central Railroad's  festively decorated train cars for a ride to "the North Pole". 

As the Christmas train chugs along the tracks, everyone gets into the Holiday spirit with merry music, a reading of The Polar Express story, sweet treats, and mugs of hot cocoa.

Of course, the Jolly Old gentleman himself will be there when the train stops just outside the North Pole, greeting everyone with a rousing "Ho, Ho, Ho!".

What a fun way for the whole family to kick off the Holiday Season!

Seaside Holiday Fair

When: November 23, 2024

Holiday Open House at Nauset Model Railroad Club

St. Pius X Parish Christmas Fair

When: November 23, 2024, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

St. Pius X's popular annual Christmas Fair features handcrafted items, cozy knits, lovely jewelry, and Rada knives.

Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument

When: November 27, 2024, the lights go on at 5 p.m.

Where: High Pole Hill, Provincetown

The spectacular 252-foot tall Pilgrim Monument dazzles the night sky with thousands of white lights, celebrating the Pilgrims’ First Landing in Provincetown in November 1620.

The lights continue to shine through the first week of January. It's a beautiful sight to see!

"Gardens Aglow"

When: November 29, 2024 is opening night. Continues on select dates through December 23, 2024.

Christmas Celebration at Snow's

Bring your friends and family, especially the little ones, for a day filled with holiday cheer and festivities at Snow's Home & Garden!

Santa will make a special appearance (10:30 a.m - 2:00 p.m.) ready to hear the kiddies' wishes and pose for photos.

The Dickens Singers will be caroling (noon to 2 p.m.), followed by a delightful puppet show by Mary Wilson and live music by Paul from Pitter Patter Puppets (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.).

Sue Teplansky from Sue Unleashed will be on-site (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) offering holiday-themed dog portraits to capture a festive moment with your furry friends.

There will also be book signings with local authors and sweet treats available for purchase from Cape Cod Macarons.

And don’t miss Snow's Holiday Shop, complete with an interactive holiday train display and stunning window decorations that will get you in the spirit of the season!

Lighting of the Lobster Pot Tree

When:  November 30, 2024; at 5:30 p.m. the community gathers to sing carols, drink hot cocoa and count down for the tree lighting

Made from 100+ lobster pots stacked over 2 stories high and decorated with ribbons, garland and thousands of festive lights, artist Provincetown's beloved lobster pot Christmas tree will put you in the Holiday mood for sure!
