Meet the Archaeologist

When: Sundays in March, 2024, 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. except March 31st when museum is closed for Easter

Where: Whydah Pirate Museum, 674 Rt. 28, West Yarmouth, MA

Admission: $17/adult (ages 16 - 64); $15/seniors (age 65+); $13/youth (ages 5 - 15); Ages 4 & Under Free

A visit to the Whydah Pirate Museum is a fascinating experience any time!

But Sundays in March are extra-special because that's when the museum's marine archaeologist will be there to meet you and show you, first-hand, how real treasure from the 1700s pirate ship, Whydah Gally, is being excavated and preserved.

On your tour of the museum, be sure to go back to the lab and spend a little time chatting with the archaeologist. Have questions? Don't hesitate to ask! I know you'll be blown away by what you see and learn!!

Seasonal Events at Chatham Bars Inn

As we wrap up the winter season, Chatham Bars Inn's events calendar heats up with fun and creative events including line dancing classes, wine tastings, afternoon teas, astronomy events, iPhone photography classes and much more.

Orleans Farmers Market

When: Saturdays in March, 2024 from 10 a.m. to noon

Where: 44 Main Street, Orleans, MA

During the winter months, the popular Orleans Farmers Market is held indoors at the Old Firehouse.

Stop by and stock up on fresh, locally grown and harvested seafood, meats, and produce, as well as yummy treats, healthy foods and healing balms from area food artisans and wildcrafters.

Hyannis Marathon Weekend

When: March 1 - 3, 2024

Where: Emerald Resort and Conference Center, 35 Scudder Avenue, Hyannis

Admission: Entry fees for participants; no charge for spectators

One of the premier Cape Cod events of the winter season, this weekend kicks off on Friday with a 5Km Fun Run. Saturday features a pasta dinner party.  Sunday is the big day for the Hyannis Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Team Relay. 

The Race Expo, the awards ceremonies and a post-race party round out the weekend's festivities.

CCMOA Winter Concert Series

When: March 3, 17 & 24, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.

Where: Cape Cod Museum of Art, 60 Hope Lane, Dennis, MA

Admission: Individual tickets $18/member, $24/non-member; season passes also available

CCMOA's Winter Concert Series 2024 features performances in many different musical disciplines from Swing to Bluegrass, Jazz, Celtic and Classical.

Gloriæ Dei Cantores Lenten Concert

When: March 8 & 9, 2024, 7:30pm 

Where: Church of the Transfiguration, Rock Harbor, Orleans, MA

Tickets: General Admission $35; Seniors $30; Student and Under 18 Free

This Spring the critically acclaimed Gloriæ Dei Cantores Choir presents a concert of Renaissance and 21st century music.

Each work is a reflection on themes from this season of new growth and the journey towards Easter. Come and hear Byrd, Morales, Palestrina, Liszt, Pärt, Ešenvalds, and Gjeilo in the stunning acoustic of the Church of the Transfiguration.

As always, tickets are free for students and young people.

Cape Cod St. Patrick's Parade

When: March 9, 2024, 11:00 a.m. *Rain, snow or shine*

Where: Along Rt. 28 from South Yarmouth to West Yarmouth, MA

One of the most anticipated Cape Cod events in March, the St. Paddy's Day parade honors the Irish with the wearin' of the green and a 2 mile-long parade featuring floats, marching bands, beautiful Colleens, and plenty of parade trinkets and candy to go around!

Outermost Contra Dance

When: March 15, 2024 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

Where: Wellfleet Preservation Hall, 335 Main Street, Wellfleet, MA

Cost: $15 regular admission; $10 for ages 30 or younger; $5 for students (with ID)

Put on your dancin' shoes for this fun event at Preservation Hall!

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Outermost Contra Dance! Swing your partner, dosido your friends and neighbors, and let the music guide your feet!

Everyone is welcome at this family friendly event, from total beginners to expert dancers. Bring a partner, or come solo. There are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community.

Polar Plunge to Benefit MA Special Olympics

When: March 16, 2024, 11 a.m.

Where: Red River Beach, Harwich Port, MA

Admission: Fundraising/donations by participants; free for spectators

Brrrave the cold and take the plunge to support more than 14,000 athletes of all abilities in sports training and competitions Special Olympics Massachusetts offers year-round.

All are invited to participate in the Plunge fundraiser, including individuals, friends and families, and teams representing schools, businesses, organizations, and clubs.

Hyannis Rotary's Home, Garden & Lifestyle Show

When: March 23, 2024, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
