Question: Looking for an RV park near Chatham MA for late July 2015.
Dee's Reply: Hi Angela - There aren't any RV parks in the town of Chatham that I know of. But there are a few camping areas nearby, within 10 miles or less from downtown Chatham:
Nickerson State Park
3488 Main Street (Rt. 6A)
Brewster MA
(508) 896-3491
If you're looking for a spot where you can commune with nature, Nickerson is a great place to do that.
This is a gorgeous state park with 400+ campsites and more than a thousand 1000 acres of natural habitat made up of woodlands, freshwater ponds, and miles of biking and hiking trails. During the summer months, the park offers ranger-guided interpretive programs for all age groups. And bicycle and small boat rentals are available, in case you're not planning to bring your own.
Note: If you'd like to stay at Nickerson State Park, be sure to make your reservation as soon as you can. It's a very popular spot, and campsites can be hard to come by if you wait until the last minute to reserve.

Sweetwater Forest
676 Harwich Road
Brewster MA
(508) 896-3773
Sweetwater is a favorite camping area for those who want a peaceful, wooded setting along with a good selection of on-site entertainment for the whole family.
Some of the kid-friendly amenities and activities at Sweetwater include: basketball courts, mini-golf, a freshwater pond for fishing and boating, playgrounds, and special events like hayrides, pizza parties, and family ice cream socials. Excellent Cape Cod Bay beaches are just a short drive or bikeride away.

Shady Knoll Campground
1709 Main Street (Rt. 6A)
Brewster MA
(508) 896-3002
Shady Knoll is a small, family-oriented camping area with lots of old-fashioned charm.
There isn't much in the way of on-site activities here, just a playground area for the kids and a main lodge with a gathering area and a game room. That said, there's more than enough to see and do nearby.

Campers Haven RV Resort
184 Old Wharf Road
Dennisport MA
(508) 398-2811
The camping areas I mentioned above are on the Cape Cod Bay (north) side of the Cape. Campers Haven is on the Nantucket Sound (south) side.
A big plus to Campers Haven is that it's a waterfront property, and guests have exclusive access to a 500' stretch of private beach for swimming, sunning, and fishing. There's also a lot going on at Campers Haven during the summer ... kids' activities, movies, bingo, bocce, billiards, live music events, etc., etc., etc.
Note: Campers Haven is in a neighborhood setting, not in a woodsy setting like the other camping areas I've mentioned above.

If you're willing to be a little farther away from Chatham (but still within a reasonable driving distance), there are quite a few nice camping areas on the Cape Cod National Seashore that cater to RVers. You'll find them in the Outer Cape section of my Cape Cod Campground Directory.
