Question: I am staying in Mashpee and was wondering if there is a harbor cruise being offered for the 4th of July Fireworks closer than Provincetown?
Dee's Reply: Hi Ann Marie -
Aside from the one in Provincetown, the only other 4th of July fireworks cruise I know of is offered by Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises.
On the 4th of July this year (2012), they're offering a special cruise from Barnstable Harbor to Provincetown to see the fireworks. (There's no whale watching involved.)
Barnstable Harbor is much nearer to Mashpee than Provincetown, by a lot of miles!
This cruise is 3 hours long, leaving from the pier in Barnstable at about 8 p.m. and returning around 11 p.m.
Onboard the ship there's food for sale(lobster rolls, salads, along with non-seafoody selections) and live entertainment. There's also full bar onboard.
Advance reservations are required. See Hyannis Whale Watcher's website for details.
I think this is the only other 4th of July fireworks cruise that's offered on the Cape this year, but I'm not 100% positive. So give me a day or two to do some checking around, and I'll let you know if I come across any others.
Best Regards,
Dee
*Note: This special 4th of July cruise is not offered every year. Please be sure to check Hyannis Whale Watcher's website for the most current information.
