Question: Driving from Cape Cod to Plymouth, how do I avoid the Sagamore Bridge while it is undergoing repair?
Dee's Reply: Hi Nancy -
Your only other choice is to use the Bourne Bridge.
Go over the Bourne Bridge, take your first exit, and follow the signs for Route 6 toward Sagamore Beach. Rt. 6 will take you along the "mainland" side of the Cape Cod Canal to the intersection of Routes 3 and 3A to Plymouth.
Of course, you won't be the only one opting to use the Bourne Bridge while the Sagamore is being worked on. So don't be suprised if you find that traffic is heavier than normal at the Bourne, too.
If you're at all flexible in your travel times, consider going over the bridge at an "off hour" so you'll miss the bulk of the normal morning and evening commuter traffic.
Hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Dee
