Question: From Provincetown dock what is our best and most economical form of transportation to get to Hyannis area?
Dee's Reply: Hi Jerry!
If you won't have a car to use while you're here, then the most time-efficient and economical way to travel from Provincetown to Hyannis would be by bus.
The Plymouth & Brockton ("P&B") bus company has regularly scheduled service from Provincetown to the Transportation Center in Hyannis.
The trip costs $10 per person (cash only), each way, and it's about an hour and a half travel time.
There's also the option of taking the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's local bus. It's less expensive than P&B ($2 per person, each way). But it's also a much longer ride at over 3 1/2 hours, with numerous stops along the way. Plus, you'd need to transfer buses once during the trip from Provincetown to Hyannis.
All in all, the P&B bus is the better choice, IMHO.
Here are links to the P&B and the CCRTA websites so you can check the schedules and see how they'll work into your travel plans:

One other thing to consider is that the bus schedules are more limited during the off-season (basically, until late June) and on weekends.
It's a good idea to contact the bus company directly to confirm all the details for your specific travel date.
P&B - (508) 746-0378
CCRTA - (800) 352-7155
Hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Dee
